Access to mental well-being should never be based on economic standing. That’s why Trauma Transformed Counselling Services is dedicated to bridging gaps in the system that prevent individuals from accessing counselling, by providing affordable and accessible counselling services to individuals in Ontario. Counselling services are provided by CEO and Founder of Trauma Transformed Counselling Services, Sharday Henry, who is a graduate student at Wilfrid Laurier University, in Kitchner, ON. Sharday is a registered social worker with the OCSWSSW and is fully qualified to provide counselling services in Ontario. Her mission is to continue to gain experience in the field, while creating equitable opportunities for vulnerable populations to gain access to mental health support.

Virtual Counselling Services

During the Covid-19 pandemic, nationwide lockdowns forced half of the world’s population into isolation, causing many to feel alone and disconnected from society. During this time, virtual services were on the rise, enabling people to access necessary supports in a safe and convenient manner, while also helping to alleviate the negative emotions caused by isolation. Although the pandemic is long over, virtual services remain an integral part of the way services (including counselling) are delivered.

Virtual counselling services are an excellent alternative for individuals who prefer connecting online, offering many of the same benefits as in-person services, along with benefits such as flexibility, accessibility, and additional privacy. This approach to counselling enables clients to engage in therapeutic sessions comfortably and conveniently in their own environments, eliminating the need to travel for in-person sessions, which for some, can be inconvenient, expensive and time consuming.

My Personal Practice Approach in Counselling: My goal is to maintain a person-centred, strength-based, solution-focused perspective. I see you as the expert of your own life, capable of growth and change. My commitment is to foster confidence and self-esteem in your ability to navigate challenges, make decisions, and address the complexities of your current life circumstances. My primary focus is on empowering you to lead a more fulfilling life. In working together, I hope to provide a secure and liberating space, where you can explore your most vulnerable experiences, and emerge from the process feeling more connected, authentic, and whole.

On a Personal Note: I reside in Thorold, Ontario with my husband, two children, niece, and dog (Lexus). With over six years of education and experience in social work and counselling, I have an interest in working with cultural diverse populations, while exploring ways to contribute to a more culturally equitable society. As an individual who has experienced many of her own traumas, I also have an interest in supporting others as they learn to navigate through their healing journey’s. Besides work, I enjoy travelling to tropical destinations, swimming in turquoise waters, long scenic drives, the soothing sounds of rain, thunderstorms, and waves, and solitude. I'm a Libra and an introvert, and I'm learning to embrace change as I transition from my academic journey to social work and psychotherapy practice.
